The Medical Billing program gives students the opportunity to learn billing for both the professional (physician) and facility (hospital) setting. In addition to extensive medical billing and coding instruction, students will learn the professional tasks and skills required for front office or department.
Medical billers play a vital role in the connection between healthcare providers, patients and insurance companies. They interpret medical records, determine codes for patient visits, diagnoses and medical procedures. They make sure the right person or company is billed or paid. Medical billers are fluent in the patient registration and scheduling processes. Graduates of the program will have skills for positions in various healthcare settings including inpatient and outpatient hospital departments, health insurance companies, physician offices and billing services.
