Pharmacy Technician

The tuition-free Pharmacy Technician pathway will prepare you for a new career in the high-demand field of pharmacy technician field. Pharmacy technicians are an integral part of the patient care team. You will assist pharmacists, using your skills in technology, customer support and pharmacology.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Pathway Length: 8 months, September – May
Average Starting Hourly Pay: $18 – $22
Schedule:
– Monday + Thursday | 8:30am – 12pm, Virtual Instruction
– Tuesday + Wednesday | 8:30am – 2:30pm, In-Person Instruction

The Pharmacy Technician pathway gives you the opportunity to learn to assist pharmacists by assuming many responsibilities, such as filling prescription, utilizing computer systems and software, and fulfilling other patient-specific duties to support a Registered Pharmacist.

Graduates of the Pharmacy Technician pathway will have skills for pharmacy technician positions in retail or institutional pharmacy practice.

This track prepares graduates to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Exam (PTCB).

The Pharmacy Technician pathway will prepare you for certified positions such as:

–  Retail Pharmacy Technician
–  Hospital Pharmacy Technician
–  Compounding Pharmacy Technician
–  Long Term Care/Close Door Pharmacy Technician

ELIGIBILITY

  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Live in Kent County
  • Have no record of a felony
  • Be experiencing unemployment or underemployment
    *Working part-time, multiple part-time jobs, or in a job where potential and skills are not fully utilized.
